Here are some pictures of the "Pachanga for Oxy" at the home of Angel Cervantes , a historic milestone for our community as we come together to secure the future of the José F. Silva '84 Endowed Memorial Scholarship.

Jose Silva scholarship 30th anniversary celebration

During Alumni Reunion weekend, OCLAA celebrated 30 years of the Jose Silva Memorial Scholarship at the Intercultural Community Center alongside alumni, staff, friends and the Silva family. 

Oral History Project showcase spring 2024

​In collaboration with the Spanish and Latino/a and Latin American Studies Departments and Humanities for Just Communities, OCLAA launched an Oral History Project which documented the stories of 24 Latinx alumni. These stories were showcased at the Mary Norton Clapp Library on February 2024 and are now permanently housed in the Special Collections & College Archives.

Bienvenidos 2023

OCLAA welcomed students to the new school year with our annual Latino/a/x celebration that brought together students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff! 

Alumni Happy Hour spring 2023

Recap from last Spring's  OCLAA Happy Hour at Relentless Brewing and Spirits in Eagle Rock. We got to see a lot of familiar and new faces. We all realized how special it was to gather in person and hope to do an event like this again very soon.

The Occidental College Latino Alumni Association (OCLAA) welcomed students to the new school year and to kicked-off Latino Heritage Month! Our annual Latino/a/x celebration brought together students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff! 


Alumni Seal Conversation

On July 13th, 2022 Oxy held an Alumni Seal Conversation with Angel Cervantes ’94, the 2021 Alumni Seal Award honoree for Service to the College. Angel was joined by Angelica Salas ’93 to reflect on multiculturalism in the 90s, lessons learned, and how to move equity and justice forward for the future. As part of this special series, they were joined by President Harry J. Elam, Jr., Politics Professor Regina Freer, and students from the Multicultural Summer Institute.
